My Education
School wasn’t the best time for me, as I was told that I was slow and stupid.
It wasn’t until I got to university that I was diagnosed with learning difficulties and dyslexic tendencies.
Despite what I was told I still managed to earn two Animal Care degrees from Hartpury College, and then a BSc Hons in Zoology from Aberystwyth.

Falconry
At the ripe old age of fourteen, I began training to be a falconer, under the guidance of Jemima Parry-Jones MBE.
I volunteered at the International Center for Birds of Prey for many years, and learnt a huge amount about falconry and birds of prey in general. That knowledge allowed me to adopt a Eurasian Eagle Owl, called Sage.
Sage was a brilliantly bonkers bird, but she had suffered a lot of trauma. Once i had gained her trust, she blossomed into a loving bird with a beautiful character.
Sadly she passed away last year, after fifteen years of pampering and chaos. One day when I can think about her without crying I will write about the crazy adventures that we shared.

Why do I write novels?

The long and the short answer to that is that I developed chronic health problems after university. With that my mental health dwindled. And after years of struggling, I discovered the joy of writing, and now I can’t stop, and I doubt I ever will.
Now I have these three nutters who “help” me write whenever they can.
